I started out installing insulation for other companies before I ever thought about running my own. The work was steady, but I kept noticing the same shortcuts on job after job. Gaps left behind walls. Attics that met code on paper but still leaked heat somewhere nobody had bothered to find. Crawlspaces closed up before anyone checked for moisture underneath.
After a few years of that, I decided I would rather do the work properly under my own name than keep doing it the fast way under someone else’s. Sevi joined not long after, and between us we have now installed insulation in thousands of homes across Connecticut and New York. The company grew because the work held up over time, not because of any marketing trick, and most of our new customers still come from a referral rather than an ad.
We do not believe insulation alone solves every comfort problem, and we will tell a homeowner that even when it costs us a sale. A house is a system of connected components. There is interaction among air movement, moisture and insulation, and any single of these three factors addressed without considering the others is likely to result in a disappointing outcome.
We have encountered many attics that are able to pass all the building codes on paper, but the bedroom underneath is cold because the air is leaking out somewhere the code didn’t expect. Prior to recommending any product we consider the actual performance of the home, where air is leaking, and which rooms are the biggest culprits. That check is a reality of time, but not doing so is how homeowners end up spending money for an upgrade that doesn’t pay off.
Our crew can spray foams as insulation in attic, basement, crawl spaces, walls and garage ceilings. We also remove insulation and install basement liners and ice dam prevention services, which may become more of an urgency for many homeowners when the first hard freeze comes and ice begins to accumulate along the roofline.
Usually, no matter the size or budget, most projects begin as a vision. We will check the property, find out where the true issues lie and communicate these in a way that a homeowner can easily understand so they can make decisions. Only then do we discuss materials and costs, since it’s hard to get it right before you give a recommendation.
Every technician on our crew trains directly under Sevi or me before working independently on a client’s home, and that training continues well past the first job. Spray foam is unforgiving of shortcuts. If there is a gap behind drywall, or if the spray is too light, it will not become apparent until the next cold spell, which we don’t want to miss on site, or leave the homeowner with a problem.
On each job, our crew dresses appropriately in protective clothing, and we have insurance in place so that homeowners can be sure to feel comfortable while we are in their walls and crawlspace for a week or two at a time.
Most of the trust we have built comes down to time spent in the field and follow through after the job is done. Sevi and I have spent more than twenty five years learning this trade inside actual homes, which teaches you things a manual never will. We also tell homeowners exactly what curing time to expect, when a space is safe to use again, and what results they should realistically see, instead of disappearing once the invoice is paid.
We would rather promise less and deliver more than make a sale with numbers we cannot back up. That approach has earned us repeat customers and referrals across Connecticut and New York for more than two decades, and a fair number of our calls now come from people whose neighbors we already worked for.
We are based in Darien, Connecticut, and our crews serve homes throughout the state as well as across the border into New York. Houses near the Long Island Sound often deal with different moisture and air sealing challenges than homes further inland, and our approach reflects that instead of treating every property the same way.
Older homes in particular tend to have their own quirks, gaps around original window framing, additions that were never properly sealed to the main structure, and we plan for that before we ever start spraying. If you want information specific to your area, our Connecticut and New York pages cover the issues local homeowners ask about most.
